Ann Koblitz, Professor of Women and Gender Studies Program at Arizona State University will visit ISU Women's Studies in March. Her husband Neal Koblitz will also be at ISU presenting a Math-Computer Science Miller lecture. Ann Koblitz specializes in the role of women in the history of science, technology, and medicine; gender and science theory; cross-cultural history of sexuality and fertility control; women's health and sexuality in territorial Arizona; gender and archaeology; and contemporary feminist theory. Dr. Judith Kimble is visiting ISU as part of "Pioneers in the Biological Sciences: a Seminar Series for Outstanding Women Scientists and Role Models." Dr. Kimble's honors and awards include: 2004-05 President of the Society for Developmental Biology, 2000 President of the Genetics Society of America, 1995 National Academy of Sciences, 2007 Fellow of American Academy of Arts and Sciences. ISU will kick off its ADVANCE program during the reception starting at 5 pm Monday, February 5, outside 1550 Bearsdhear Hall. The reception is free and open to the public. ISU President Greg Geoffroy, Executive Vice President and Provost Elizabeth Hoffman and Associate Provost Susan Carlson are scheduled to speak at the celebration.
