ADVANCE e-Update: April 9, 2009Links to updates in the ISU ADVANCE Program and on the ISU campus.ISU ADVANCE Administrative Fellowship Opportunity The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost has an Administrative Fellowship opportunity available to support a faculty member in developing an important component of the ISU ADVANCE Program (see http://www.advance.iastate.edu/). The administrative fellow will work with the ISU ADVANCE Program and the Associate Provost for Faculty Advancement and Diversity to enhance the university's programs and materials on "paths to promotion," particularly for associate professors in STEM fields. The fellowship will be up to half time for one or two semesters, beginning in Fall 2009. The program is open to tenured associate or full professors, with full professors preferred. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in or experience with issues of the retention and promotion of women and other underrepresented groups in faculty positions and/or programs as well as excellent scholarly, communication and leadership skills. Applicants should have been employed by ISU for at least two years. All applications must be approved by the department chair or supervisor. ISU ADVANCE Lectures Program A reminder that ISU ADVANCE sponsors university lectures that meet ADVANCE's mission of increasing the participation and advancement of women in academic science and engineering careers and making Iowa State an optimal environment for all faculty. Each year ADVANCE awards two $1000 lectureships and ten $300 lecture co-sponsorships. Applications for Lectureships ($1000) for 2009-10 are due April 15, 2009.
