Role in ADVANCE program
Dr. Steve Rodermel, Professor of Genetics, Development & Cell Biology, is the ADVANCE Professor in his department starting in the fall of 2009.

Research Interests
The Rodermel Lab is interested in nuclear-chloroplast interactions using various genetic, biochemical and molecular biological approaches. Current studies are concentrated on understanding the physiological roles of these proteins in chloroplast biogenesis, plant growth and development, and on why cells in green sectors of the mutant plants are able to bypass the requirement for these proteins.
